ok…..I’m pretty sure there is a much easier way of doing this but…being me and using both
sides of my brain to accomplish something..I came up with this horrible method. Normally i just upload about 4 seconds of video to GIFNINJA.com and they do there stuff and out pops a video converted into a gif….but for some reason lately they havent been doing anything at all….just errors….so screw you gifninja lol……plus they make the gif picture itself really small and they only use a few frames per second….instead of my usual 16 or so frames….which makes for a crappy gif in my opinion so….
- Take a video of what you want and upload it to your computer. I don’t use mac…..(I absolutely hate editing on MAC computers) sorry….and load your video into windows movie maker.
- edit your video how you want it (remember theres no sound in GIF’s…it’s a picture file not a movie)
- I suggest you speed up your video using the video effects options. And seriously….only use about 4 seconds of video total…or your gunna hate doing this.
- SAVE SAVE SAVE!
- now for the fun part. Remember how i told you to speed up your video…if you didnt do so your gunna hate this part…..Go to where you preview the movie….should be on the right side…looks like a regular old video player….on the bottom of the right corner there should be a picture of a camera. This will be your best friend for the next hour or so.
Then Locate the little blue slider thingy on the video timeline.
You are going to pause the video and move the slider verrryyyyy slowwwly to the next frame…at each frame click the picture button and save the picture to a folder in your “MY PICTURES” ******Make sure you number each picture in sequencial order….this will help later on.
So…..do that for EVERY FRAME….just a heads up there are usually 12-16 frames per second….so remember when I told you to only use about 4 seconds?
This is why - Ok so yay! you finished taking pictures of every frame and you should have over 50 new pictures all numbered and put in there own little picture folder.
- Now….you need some sort of GIF editing software.I use Jasc Animation Shop 3 You can download the trial version of it here
- When you have downloaded the program open each picture starting with number one and work your way up…..copy and paste the pictures into the boxes of the 1st picture…..all in order. Then save your animation
Ta Da…..:)
Mine took an hour.

Instead of taking pictures of every frame, you should just upload your video to http://media-convert.com/convert/ then select .gif as the output type.
