Question:
What happened to the “View all friends” link? It disappeared when I made my Top 16 code. Is that normal?

Answer:
This only happens if you forget to fill in the “View All Friends” box when you’re generating the Top 16 code. Don’t worry, you don’t have to re-type everything to fix it. First go to the Top 16+ editor and paste in your Top 16 code. Then just go to your Myspace home page and right click your “view all friends” then click “copy shortcut” (or “save link location” in Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape). Paste this into the Top 16 generator where it says “View All Friends URL”.

Question:
Ok, so I just did the Top 16 thing. My friends’ names all showed up but their pictures are missing! Instead of seeing pix for each of my friends I get “..” How do I fix that?

Answer:
Make sure that you’re putting in the right “Image URLs.” To get an image URL, just view all your friends from your Myspace home page, then right click each of your friends’ pics and go to “properties.” from here you can copy (CTRL +C) and paste (CTRL+V) the urls into the code generator. In some versions of Firefox you can just click “Copy image location” then just paste (CTRL+V) right into the code generator.

Question:
Why does my old Top 8 still show up? I made my Top 16 and it shows up fine, but for some reason I can’t get rid of my old top 8 and now my profile looks all crazy. Is that normal? I’m a superstar and I can’t afford to have a sloppy looking Myspace profile.

Answer:
The Top 16 is supposed to completely replace your top 8. I’ve seen this problem happen with Myspace users who have broken code before the Top 16+ section. There are some bad generators out there (usually quizzes) that leave broken tags and broken <table> tags all over the place. The quick way to fix this problem is to remove these extra codes that come before the “Who I’d like to meet” section one by one until your old top 8 goes away and your profile looks right. Start with quizzes since those are what breaks people’s profile most of the time. As you remove codes, you can paste them into notepad as backups.

Question:
After I make a Top 16, can I go back and edit my code without having to re-type everything all over again? I make changes all the time and I just want to re-generate the code without editing html and style sheet code.

Answer:
No Problem! You can paste your code back into the Top 16+ editor all in one shot and start where you left off without having to re-type all that stuff. Even if you used one of those knock off Top 16 sites to generate your code, The Top 16+ will import your old code and let you edit your friend space as many times as you want.

Question:
Why don’t all of my friends show up when I paste my code into the Top 16+ editor?

Answer:
Go to http://www.locohost.net/myspace_top16 and create a new top12 or top16 or top80 etc. When you make your new one, be sure to use the long urls instead of the short ones… in other words:

The editor can only read friend URLs that start with http://profile.myspace.com…..
The editor will skip short URLs that look like http://www.myspace.com/myfriend

You’ll have to retype the missing friends. This time be sure to copy the long URL instead of the short one. You can do this by right clicking that friend and going to “copy shortcut”.. in Firefox or Netscape “copy link location” instead.

Once you generate this new code using long URLs, you can edit it by pasting it back into the Top 16+ editor.

Question:
I accidentally deleted my friend Tom. I guess he’s too busy to re-add me or something. I think he locks himself in the bathroom for hours and takes pictures of himself in front of the mirror. Isn’t there some way to force-add him without his permission? I heard you could do this with a Top 16 code.

Answer:
Sure! You can list anyone you want in your Top 16, but you’ll have to send your friend an add request and he’ll have to approve it before you can leave comments.

Question:
Where can I ask a question? I need more help from a real person… ideally I’d like help from a good looking person who really knows how to code this stuff.

Answer:
Go to this group and join up! You can ask the creator of the Top 16+ any question you want here. There are a lot of other html and style sheet coders in the group who can help you customize your Myspace profile pretty much any way you want. You should get an answer within a few hours, and everyone in the group is good looking enough to be Top 16 material.
